[Choose one and say why they're this way. Wardens--Why does the Admiral think your character would be useful as a warden here? What do they bring to the table? Regardless of their good/evil/neutral motivations, do they have the capacity to help an inmate achieve graduation? Inmates--What does your character still need to change about themselves? How can working with a warden on the Barge help them?]

Item: [(WARDENS ONLY) -- What Gives you Your Information While Here? Examples -- a compass, a book, a palm pilot, a tarot card, etc.]

Abilities/Powers:
  • SOLDIER First-Class - The military operatives of SOLDIER are mako-enhanced super soldiers capable of various impossible feats due to their infusion with mako-energy. They're faster, better, and stronger than the normal infantry. It's through this fusion of science and magic that SOLIDER operatives become living weapons that can wipe out an entire platoon in a matter of minutes. Angeal is no different in this regard since he boasts superhuman strength, enhanced speed, and even enhanced combat capabilities.

The First-Class operatives are known to wield fantastical blades that normal men cannot wield. For Angeal, he can wield the infamous Buster Sword, a near 80-pound massive blade with the ease and proficiency of a modern-day samurai. Such a feat should be impossible but it isn't thanks to the mako energy coursing through his veins. This also explains why all SOLDIER operatives have a peculiar glow to their eyes thanks to the magical component within them. However, this also is the reason why many SOLDIER operatives begin to degrade over the years as the mako energy within them starts to lacerate their bodies.

SOLDIER operatives aren't easy to kill but they're not immune to damage. They can be disabled or killed in battle since they're only mortal despite their enhancements. They're also prone to mako-poisoning thanks to the cellular degradation.

  • Jenova Cells- Despite his previously mentioned enhancements, Angeal owes many of his later abilities to that of the Jenova cells within him. The G-type cells are noticeably weaker than that of the S-cells but he's capable of creating copies of himself that act upon his will. These copies are typically monstrous in design unless his DNA is injected into a human host.

  • Wing Manifestation - Like the other test subjects of Project G and Project S, Angeal can manifest wings upon his back. His wings are white in hue, undoubtedly a nod to his namesake, unlike the other two subjects. He's also the only one of the trio to sport two wings rather than one, with the second smaller wing almost hidden under the larger. His wings are only on one side, giving him the illusion of a one-winged seraph. He's capable of flight and seems even capable of hovering just a few inches off the ground.

  • Lycanthrope - Since his death, Angeal is able to return from the Lifestream in the form of a wolf-like armored dog with two angelic wings upon its back. This dog is one of his many copies, lifeforms that have been infused by his genes to fulfill his will. As expected, his dog-like form is much stronger than your average mutt since it can take down monsters fairly swiftly.

  • Personality: Angeal is a laid-back, dedicated, and moral individual with a strong sense of honor. He takes pride in being in SOLDIER and seems unflinching in his determination to obtain his dreams. While he's nowhere near as famous as the great Sephiroth, Angeal's is a close second. He takes pride in being a soldier and seems to be quite loyal to Shinra despite the electric company's less than altruistic goals. Angeal is the kind of man to always carry his head high even while facing adversity. He's strong and absolute, the very pinnacle of masculinity in both personality and appearance. There's no sense of arrogance in his confidence. Just this unyielding resolve that borderlines on mystical in some regards. He carries the hopes and dreams of his family knowing his successes in life wouldn't have been possible without them. The poverty he endured as a child helped shape the man he is today by forcing him to appreciate the little things in life.

It's because of his meager beginnings that Angeal comes across as a bit of frugal sometimes. He seems content with simple luxuries and never seems to overspend despite his generous stipend. Angeal is the kind of man who takes what he needs and not what he wants. He's a down-to-earth guy who has a great sense of humor despite his gruff exterior. While he tries to hide it from view, there's no mistaking that Angeal is a bit soft-hearted. He has a soft spot for dogs, enjoys gardening, and loves cooking. Angeal is shocking domestic for a big burly soldier but to be fair, he tends to keep his hobbies a secret. That is until his fan club, the ironically named Keepers of Honor grab hold of the information. Nevertheless, Angeal's strong sense of honor and loyalty makes him one of the most influential members of SOLDIER. It's because of this that many young prospects see Angeal as a mentor, most often seeking his advance when it comes down to physical training and combat. While he's quite a laid-back individual, always encouraging others to embrace their dreams and never afraid to mentor others, Angeal is often considered to be the friendliest among the Elites. While he seems rather stern and foreboding, Angeal is quite the opposite. He's a people person to a certain extent. While he's quite easy to talk to, Angeal isn't much of a conversationalist. He tends to keep to himself if he's not hanging out with his friends (Genesis and Sephiroth) and seems to shy away from overt displays of affection (i.e. Zack's hugs)

His relationship with Genesis and Sephiroth is an interesting one that has him shift between confidant and mediator. Angeal and Genesis are childhood friends who grew up within the sleepy village of Banora. While Angeal sometimes had to sacrifice his morals and steal to survive, he made it a point to never steal those apples because the rich man's son was his friend Genesis. This symbolism with the Banora Whites, affectionately known as dumbapples, plays a pivotal role in Angeal's shared storyline with Genesis and Sephiroth. His loyalty to Genesis is paramount in this scene, illustrating a lasting friendship that stood up against the erosion of time. However, this unyielding loyalty is often one-sided since Genesis set his sights on becoming a hero. Genesis is often quite dismissive of Angeal because of his apparent jealousy of Sephiroth. It's because of this rivalry between them that Angeal often found himself playing the role of mediator. His advice is often valued between the pair but less so by Genesis who became possessed by his search to halt his degradation. Nevertheless, Angeal remains loyal to his childhood friend. He leaves SOLDIER in hopes of bringing Genesis back only to be dismayed by the truth of his origins.

When the circumstances of his creation come to light, Angeal goes down a dark spiral. He ends up having an existential spiral that leads him to race back to Banora to seek answers from his mother, Gillian. Instead of finding answers, Angeal only finds despair once his mother decides to commit suicide after realizing her son knew the truth. It's then that his former pupil, Zack, comes in to find him standing over his mother's corpse. The truth behind Project G left a lasting effect on Angeal that would've led him down the same path as Genesis and Sephiroth if he wasn't a man of honor. Instead of letting his hatred consume him as the others have, Angeal pieces together his pride as a soldier and continues to aid Zack in their quest to bring back Genesis. While he's hurt and ashamed of what he is, Angeal does his best to cope with being a "monster" by staying true to himself. Of course, it's easier said than done but Angeal manages to do just that until the very end. It was a combination of both his morality and his brotherly friendship with Zack that helped Angeal overcome these challenges along with his strong sense of dedication. The pair strangely look-alike with further hints their familial ties despite not being related by blood.
